Complete details of Xtreme Motorcycle

Hero Xtreme is the successor of Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme which was launched in 2007. The CBZ Xtreme featured a tuned up engine that used in Honda Unicorn. The bike was gone for refreshment in 2008 and reappeared with new aggressive body skin. In 2011, the bike was face-lifted and was completely altered with new body parts, graphics, LED tail lamp, ergonomics, and new alloy wheels. A rear disc brake was added. To stand up with the latest generation motorcycle, the meter console got upgraded with a digital system. When Hero and Honda parted away, Hero renamed the bike to Hero Xtreme. Since the brand code 'CBZ' was borrowed from Honda CB Series, Hero had no other choice than chopping off the name.
The Hero Xtreme is mated with a 149.2 Air cooled, 4 - stroke single cylinder OHC engine. It generates peak power of 14.4 Ps @ 8500 rpm and gorgeous torque of 12.80 N m @ 6500 rpm. It is wedded with a 5 speed gear box.
2013 Xtreme:
The all new facelifted Xtreme looks more impressive than ever before. With new headlight, graphics and style, the Xtreme gets equipped with everything needed for a 150cc commuter bike.

First Impression Review

The model CBZ of Hero Honda was regarded as one of the best and most desired commuter of the 90s. Unlike other motorcycles of that time, it has a unique headlamp design with an integrated black windshield, which gives a premium sports looks to the machine. Not only that, it was the first Indian bike to use a wider rear tyre. All these things had made this one of the top rated bikes of Hero. After the partition of Hero and Honda, Hero MotoCorp introduced this model as CBZ Xtreme. Later, the motorcycle started bearing a new name badge as Xtreme alone. Now it is available as Xtreme and Xtreme Sports models.
The Engine
The bike is powered by the famous 149.2cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke engine with OHC system. No technical changes has made to this engine from the CBZ Xtreme version. Engine is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. The mill churns out a maximum power of 15.6 bhp @ 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.50 Nm @ 7000 rpm. Advanced Microprocessor Ignition System is used in this bike for smooth and efficient operation. The clutch operation and gear shifting of the bike has been smooth and effortless like the older CBZ. But it does lack the engine refinement and bit dull in the pulling.
Design and Features
Starting from the front, the new trapezoidal headlamp has taken a new shape with wider beam angles. More neat and fresh looking visors has taken place in the headlamp casing. Between the visor and headlight a new visor highbrow position lights are placed. Unlike the round and free flowing surfaces of other Hero motorcycles, this one has got many sharp edges and sliced surfaces. This alone could lift the design aspects of this bike to a new extend.
The motorcycle is also filled with some advanced features. The instrument console is made in a special shape with a combination of digital and analog display. The whole unit is surrounded by a thick silver outline which gives a premium feels to the bike. This display unit shows side stand indicator, service due indicator, tripmeter, time and fuel level indicator as well. The blue backlit LCD screen even adds the desirability factor of this bike. The analog part features tachometer. Intelligent key, alloy foldable footrest and underseat mobile charging socket are other main attractions of this bike. While all other alternatives are based on 17-inch wheels, hero uses 18-inch wheels at both the ends.
Suspension, Braking and Chassis
Suspension system of this bike consists of telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and rectangular swingarm with 5 step adjustable gas reservoir suspension system at the rear. This same system is featured in the Xtreme Sports version. Stopping force of the bike depends on 240mm disc brake at the front and conventional 130mm internally expanding shoe brake at the rear. A 220mm rear disc brake is also available as an optional feature. Like all other Hero models, Xtreme too is built around tubular diamond type frame. This is said to be one of the most popular and reliable chassis that Hero has ever built. Meanwhile, this new Extreme is 2kg heavier than its previous variant without any notable changes to the bike's riding and handling conditions. It is smooth and at the same time rigid in change in conditions.
Verdict
Hero Honda CBZ was one solid bike with pure riding experience. The new Xtreme does not fails to give that feelings atleast to some extend. Bike lacks some minor refinements in the braking and suspension area. But the engine and chassis remains to be the top and best-in class. The fuel economy of the Xtreme is said to be way ahead than the alternatives. Service and maintenance cost of the bike remains to satisfy the customers like all other Hero bikes are doing it for decades. From the previous version it has improved a lot in the feature section but it again sticks to the same odd looking design principles. All other alternatives of the Hero Xtreme looks better in terms of core design and styling.
I love bike Xtreme
Mast bike
Looking is excellent
Goo drive
And powerful bike
Mind free
I have 2007 cbz xtreme and I have compeated with all next generation xtreme they all get beaten by 2007 cbz xtreme .After 10 good year it gives me 58 kmpl in highway and 50 kmpl in city I am using motul full synthetic15-50 engine oil for 5 years . Believe me use motul full synthetic engine oil it give your xtreme full performance
In Hero Xtreme(split seat model) the Side Look, Back look, feautures and mileage every thing is O.K. My remark is that the front portion(Front Look) some thing is bad, why because the scoop is fitted upperly (Tall place)some thing which affects its look. Hero motorcorp should review its front look and more luxary. What is my sugession is it may look and can follow the front position of Honda Unicorn (not in the same nature)may be some modifications in the front look.but the next version is very bad its look.totally bad. and thank you for giving me this opportunity.
I bought 2014 xtreme no problem with xtreme only modifification is head lamps .I also used old cbz 2011 . There is not differences new xtreme I got 51 km/ltr
Bike is very cool but after one or two years its get havey maintanencr. And its assembling is very poor and mismatch. It could be better.
I luv ths bike bcz. the model of ths bike is pretty cool n the the way of its sound. Is. awesome. !!!! Good going hero
If you are looking for a fast bike, this is not for you.
If you want to have a good 150 CC bike with good mileage, safety and above all comfort, you won't find any other bike that beats this bike in its class. a perfect cruiser for the highway, but as I said, not for racing but for comfort and value for money as per mileage.
The choice is yours.
My hero xtream are maximum availble millege in 54 km per liter. I love my hero xtream.
I love thish bike so comfartable & engine sound so sweet

The one which damaged the Hero Honda CBZ brand. Good that they re-branded it to just Xtreme from CBZ Xtreme. Hero Honda CBZ is dead and no more.

Complete details of CBZ Motorcycle

Launched in 1999, it was the first performance motorcycle of India. The CBZ was one of the models developed by Hero Honda. Until the launch of CBZ, there was nothing called a powerful motorcycle. For most of the Indians, motorcycles were something meant to travel from one place to another in an economic and most convenient way. The revolution of sports bike in India was started by Hero Honda CBZ, later take on by Bajaj Pulsar. Moreover, Hero Honda CBZ has launched way ahead of the time in India. It had to compete with the popular, 100cc, commuter motorcycles with high fuel efficiency. However, after ceasing the alliance with the Honda, the model was discontinued in 2005 followed by CBZ Xtreme. Later, Hero MotoCorp renamed the moniker to 'Xtreme', which doesn't have that extra flavour of CBZ.
The Hero Honda CBZ was powered by the original Honda 156.8cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, SOHC engine which is a scaled down version of the famous CB series. It was an oversquare engine meeting the Euro1 standards with accelerator pump for superior pickup. Unlike other carburettors we have seen, the Keihin slide type carburettor used in the CBZ features larger spring operated nozzle to deliver richer air-fuel mixture into the combustion chamber to escalate the power delivery. The engine was mated to 5-speed constant mesh gearbox and delivered a maximum power of 12.5 bhp @ 8000 rpm and peak torque of 12.4 Nm @ 6500 rpm. It was the first 4-stroke bike India to get 5-speed gearbox. This motorbike had a top speed of 115kmph making it as one of the fastest bikes of those days. Moreover, it can go from 0 to 60kmph in 5seconds.
The CBZ features 12.5-litre fuel tank offering a minimum of 600 km range. The braking duties of the bike were managed by 240 mm Nissin disc brakes at the front and 130 mm drum brake at the rear. The suspension system consists of a hydraulic telescopic fork at the front and swing arm with hydraulic damper- 5-step adjustment system at the rear. Interestingly, it had a unique air injection system in the exhaust port, which introduces fresh air into the system to meet emission standards.

It Is the first performance bike from 4 stroke series. But a 100cc bike called LML ENERGY (100cc) 3valve engine 9bhp @9k rpm. Also were launched in 1999. It can also be a competitor for 150cc ones ( fiero and CBZ ). I own energy it can also reach 105+ km/hr and can stand with these 150cc not comparing the top speed but can be a competitor but consider it is 100cc not 150cc. Regarding features it have 3v , pinpoint breaks , self motor space , kill switch , rpm meter , widest tyre , chrome finished meter and headlight for classic look. Largest tank @that time 14L.
As I reached 95+ with pillion (total weight 135kg). Bike weight 115kg as u ride it u feel it is 150cc comparing power and comfortable. Also gives a mileage 75+ when is economy (ha) but 50+ sure as it has 2 Intake valve(first 3valve engine) so mileage less but more power for a 100cc till no 100cc 4 stroke can beat is even some 125. The main issue we fell that lack of 5th gear as it has good cruise speed. The best drum breaks at that time 130mm both and best stopping feel when apply break. This bike is from future (look the specs) it have a visor in front like (avenger) and many more for alterations.
But bike launched at wrong time (mainly at that time commuter bike and mileage minded so performance bike like CBZ fiero mine could not get good clutch.

I have a 1999 model CBZ. Done 65K Kms. A wonderful bike 20yrs ago with a disc brake, five gears, wide tyre etc. But, its head light is not multireflector type and not powerful to light our highways. I fitted CREE LED's as auxilary lights. Now highway rides are very bright enough and safe. If u maintain it well it will last long. TPFC wire from throttle to the carburettor gulps more fuel. If u remove it will give 10% more mileage. I get 62 and 50 kmpl in highway and city respectively at 4K rpm gear shifting in all gears. I replaced existing 14/46T front and rear sprockets with 15/40T sprockets. Now i can cruise at near 100kmph @6k rpm only similar to Karizma-R. Now Mileage is 67KMPL @60Kmph @ 3.75K rpm. That is gearing changed from 13.3kmph per 1K rpm to 16kmph per 1K rpm after sprocket change. Pick up slightly dropped but i didnt mind for pick up , i wanted cruising on highways. But if u connect back the TPFC cable it will be slightly better in pickup. Even with pillion bike doesn't struggle at 6K rpm 96kmph. It is smooth with very less vibrations than earlier. Recently i bought 2014 KarizmaR also as it had electric start for comfortable city use. CBZ is my love at first sight and kept as second vehicle now and i am not willing to sell, it is used on sundays. My review in mouthshut.com 'Love At First Sight'. My first vehicle hence the CBZclassic is being maintained well.

First model CBZ is my first and last choice. When I saw the add on national TV (DD). I was just crazy about this bike and still that craziness is there. I love CBZ only. Its just simply perfect bikes in all the way. I have a Karizma R but I only love CBZ.. If it come again on the market with the same looks I ll definitely buy it.. Still I used to ask when I visits Hero Showrooms..
I have never find any bike in the market which has the qualities that the first model cbz has, i still own the first model cbz many people have asked me whether i am selling my bike, and my answer is no, very comfortable to ride , well maintained ,its stats in 1 kick my bike is 16 years old still its the perfect, millage in TPFC mode is near to 35-40 depended on load and i normal mode 45-48, you get a perfect feel of drive when you drive at the speed of 30 and you get a thrilling speed of ride when u drive at a speed above 60, i love this bike very much, as some said above honda should launch this bike back in market and should make its parts available because there are lots many CBZ fans like me.

Price Of Hero Honda Cbz Xtreme

The first version of Hero Honda CBZ is one of the best 150cc bikes ever launched in India. The only problem was low mileage. But a real biker wont worry about low mileage.
